How the Common Core State Standards Prepare Students for the 21st Century

By now, educators and administrators are aware of the Common Core State Standards and are getting ready for these changes prior to its official 2014 implementation.

For decades now, education assessments in the U.S. were various state and national standardized tests that served as the barometers for students’ proficiency and success in areas such as English and Math. Now, the Common Core assessment testing calls upon states to think beyond numbers and beyond pass / fail. These new set of standards are focused on “developing world class students for the 21st centuries.” The curriculum and assessments aligned to these standards are geared towards giving children the opportunity to compete globally and in job markets that may not yet exist.

Check out our new video to see how the Common Core prepares students for a future like never before and how CTB/McGraw-Hill is working alongside educators to develop solutions that are right for their needs.
